VCC General Work Permit

All work to occur at rear service ell building as per Architecture Committee approval of 03/12/204, Vieux Carre Commission approval of 03/20/2024, and materials stamped VCC approved 04/16/2024. Work includes:
• Removal of existing kitchen hood and ducting and repair of masonry wall where the ducting currently penetrates to match adjacent masonry and as per VCC standard details (attached)
• Installation of new roof hatch and safety rails
• Installation of new exhaust chimney. Railing and new chimney to be painted or pre-finished a dark color similar to the new slate roofing
• Remove existing composite slate roofing material
• Repair and/or replace underlayment as necessary
• Install new ¬¬¬natural slate (grey/green), using copper nails
• Install/repair half round copper gutters and flashing
• Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style or terra cotta ridge tiles. Replace broken tiles as needed, to match existing.
• Metal cap-flashing on the parapets or chimneys is not allowed
