VCC General Work Permit

To perform exploratory subsurface demolition near Pere Antoine Alley and Chartres as per Architecture Committee approval of 10/10/2023 and materials stamped VCC approved 10/18/2023. Work includes:
• Map and photograph all existing flagstone and stone stoop components; number each flagstone.
• Remove flagstone and stoop by hand, clean, and store in the Cathedral garden.
• Sawcut existing sidewalk/mortar bed as required to gain access to foundation.
• Hand dig through foundation substrate to expose spread footing, down to the bottom of the footing. Jack-hammering not permitted.
• Remove all spoils from the building and haul off of the site.
• Following inspections, the area to be filled with clean sand, to be compacted.
• Replace the concrete sub-foundation to match the existing adjacent concrete.
• Restore the stoop and flagstones in soft mortar beds, matching existing, and to replace any broken flagstone with new matching flagstone.
