VCC General Work Permit

Per attached materials stamped VCC approved 08/17/2023:
• Remove broken and damaged roof slates as needed.
• Repair and/or replace underlayment as necessary
• Install new 12" x 18" natural slate, using copper nails. Replacement slate must match existing slate to be retained.
• Install/repair half round copper gutters and flashing
• Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style or terra cotta ridge tiles. Replace broken tiles as needed, to match existing.
• Metal cap-flashing on the parapets or chimneys is not allowed. Remove existing metal parapet cap and install mortar cap, per typical details, attached. See allowable chimney cap details, attached.

PARAPET NOTE: Existing metal parapet cap on Decatur side parapet of 516 Wilkinson, shared with 510-12 Wilkinson, is not to be altered or replaced without coordination with the property owner(s) at 510-12 Wilkinson. Submit joint proposal, consent letter, and scope of work to VCC staff before any work at this parapet.

DORMER NOTE: Do not perform any work at dormers that alters the appearance of the dormer in any way, other than roof repair/replacement. Millwork repair/replacement at dormers is not included in this permit. Do not alter flashing or obscure any millwork features.
