Roof replacement and exterior repairs to existing hotel buildings on the Hotel Provincial parcel Building 300/ 526-528 Ursulines
Work approved:
Remove existin roofing material
Repair and/or replace underlayment as necessary
Install new 12” x 18” natural slate (grey/green), using copper nails
Install/repair half round copper gutters and flashing
Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style or terra cotta ridge tiles.
Metal cap-flashing on the parapets or chimneys is not allowed
Note: Trash chutes are required for removal of debris from all roofs. All work must conform to standard VCC policies & guidelines. Permit does not allow for cap flashing on parapets, chimneys or surrounding walls. Torch-applied roofing is not permitted in the Vieux Carré.
Damaged or rotted wood trim, window headers, and shutters will be repaired, or replaced with new red grandis wood to match existing. Missing louvred shutters on Ursilines elevation to be replaced to match existing
To repoint masonry utilizing mortar mixed and applied per the VCC standard detail sheet (attached)
Any deteriorated, cracked, or broken bricks shall be replaced to match existing in color, size, material, porosity, detail, profile and exposure.
All reinstalled masonry must be properly "toothed in" to existing masonry wall, using VCC mortar formula (attached).
VOIDS IN THE BRICK ARE NOT TO BE FILLED WITH MORTAR. BROKEN, DETERIORATED BRICKS MUST BE REPLACED WITH BRICKS MATCHING THE PREVIOUS.
