VCC General Work Permit

Metal cap-flashing on the parapets or chimneys is not allowed
Repairs to the existing roof and to reflash the parapet walls.
remove the slate from the parapet wall and install stages.
remove roof cement from the parapet walls and repoint the parapet walls using VCC mortar mix.
brick will match existing
fabricate and install copper step flashing and counter flashing per drawing submitted and stamped VCC approved 3/23./23.

To repoint masonry utilizing mortar mixed and applied per the VCC standard detail sheet (attached)
Any deteriorated, cracked, or broken bricks shall be replaced to match existing in color, size, material, porosity, detail, profile and exposure.
All reinstalled masonry must be properly "toothed in" to existing masonry wall, using VCC mortar formula (attached).

VOIDS IN THE BRICK ARE NOT TO BE FILLED WITH MORTAR. BROKEN, DETERIORATED BRICKS MUST BE REPLACED WITH BRICKS MATCHING THE PREVIOUS.

All mortar to be mixed using the VCC recipe (attached) with a maximum of 1 part Portland Cement, to 3 parts lime, to 9 parts sand, and enough water to form a workable mix. Prepackaged mixes are not permitted. The resulting mix should range in color from off-white to beige but should not be grey in color.
Lath of any kind is prohibited unless preapproved by VCC staff prior to installation
