Complete Fortified roof replacement. 1. Removal and Disposal: Remove, haul, tear-off, and dispose of one layer of the existing roof.
2. Roof Deck Nailing: Nail the existing roof deck with 8d ring-shank nails spaced at 4 inches on
center per F-RR-3 standards.
3. Deck Sealing: Install deck tape on decking seams across the entire roof to enhance sealing.
4. Waterproofing: Install Ice & Water Barrier in valleys and around openings.
5. Underlayment: Install synthetic underlayment for additional moisture and wind-driven rain
protection. This creates a bond break between the shingles and the Ice-and-Water shield.
6. Drip Edge: Replace the existing drip edge with a new fortified drip edge that extends 1/2 inch
below the sheathing and a minimum of 2 inches back onto the roof.
7. Starter Shingles: Install double-sided starter shingle rolls along the entire perimeter of the
roof.
8. Shingles: Use Owens Corning™ DURATION® Series Shingles, featuring SureNail® Technology,
9. Hip & Ridge Shingles: Install Owens Corning™ PROEDGE® Hip & Ridge Shingles.
10. GAF power vents and eave vents. Louver vents will be removed.
