VCC General Work Permit

Install new natural slate roof, vents, and maintenance platform on roof of main building, and replace dependency roof with natural slate, per attached materials stamped VCC approved 07/29/2026.
Remove existing roofing material
Repair and/or replace underlayment as necessary
Install new 12” x 18” natural slate (grey/green), using galvanized or stainless-steel nails
Install/repair half round galvanized gutters and flashing.
Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style or terra cotta ridge tiles. Replace broken tiles as needed, to match existing.
Apply mortar cap with embedded mesh per attachment. Flash/counterflash into existing mortar joints at parapets. Metal cap-flashing on parapets or chimneys is not allowed.
Remove delaminated mastic at parapets to extent possible without damaging underlying masonry. Rubber mastic and liquid applied waterproofing/sealants are not allowed on parapet walls, parapet caps, stucco or masonry unless explicitly permitted
Remove vegetation from masonry. Cut vegetation down and apply a weed and grass killer.
Remove dead roots after 1-2 days. Install new VCC mortar (formula attached) as needed where deteriorated
