VCC General Work Permit

Work to address demolition by neglect and work without permit violations, including masonry repair and millwork replacement, per attached materials stamped VCC approved 06/26/2026.

All new millwork to match existing in size, profile, dimension, material, detail, reveal, attachment, operation, color, finish and exposure. Must be true divided lites, single glazed, and spanish cedar or mahogany. Submit shop drawings for final review and approval prior to fabrication and installation.

Repoint masonry utilizing mortar mixed and applied per the VCC standard detail sheet (attached). Any deteriorated, cracked, or broken bricks shall be replaced to match existing in color, size, material, porosity, detail, profile and exposure. All reinstalled masonry must be properly "toothed in" to existing masonry wall, using VCC mortar formula (attached).
VOIDS IN THE BRICK ARE NOT TO BE FILLED WITH MORTAR. BROKEN, DETERIORATED BRICKS MUST BE REPLACED WITH BRICKS MATCHING THE PREVIOUS. All mortar to be mixed using the VCC recipe (attached) with a maximum of 1 part Portland Cement, to 3 parts lime, to 9 parts sand, and enough water to form a workable mix. Prepackaged mixes are NOT permitted. The resulting mix should range in color from off-white to beige but should not be grey or white in color. MORTAR IS NOT TO BE APPLIED OVER THE FACE OF THE BRICKS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
