VCC General Work Permit

To install new roofing as per materials stamped VCC approved 06/18/2026. Work includes:
• Remove existing imitation slate and galvanized roofing material
• Remove existing galvanized gutters and flashing
• Repair and/or replace underlayment as necessary
• Install new 20” x 10” natural slate (black), using copper nails
• Install half round copper gutters and flashing
• Install copper standing seam roofing at sidewalk overhang and new copper at front dormer roofs
• Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style ridge tiles. Replace broken tiles as needed, to match existing.
• Metal cap-flashing on parapets or chimneys is not allowed
• Rubber mastic and liquid applied waterproofing/sealants are not allowed on parapet walls or parapet caps unless explicitly permitted
• If synthetic tiles are used, they are NOT to be wrapped/capped at the edge of the roof or dormers

Note: Trash chutes are required for removal of debris from all roofs
 All work must conform to standard VCC policies & guidelines
 Permit does not allow for cap flashing on parapets, chimneys or surrounding walls
Torch-applied roofing is not permitted in the Vieux Carré.
