Repair masonry wall remnant of previously-existing service ell at property line between 920 Gov. Nicholls and 1124 Burgundy, per attached materials stamped VCC approved 01/29/2026..
Remove vegetation from masonry. Cut vegetation down and apply a weed and grass killer.
Remove dead roots after 1-2 days.
Repoint masonry utilizing mortar mixed and applied per the VCC standard detail sheet (attached). Apply convex mortar cap to top level of bricks to prevent water intrusion and mortar washout.
Any deteriorated, cracked, or broken bricks shall be replaced to match existing in color, size, material, porosity, detail, profile and exposure.
All reinstalled masonry must be properly "toothed in" to existing masonry wall, using VCC mortar formula (attached).

VOIDS IN THE BRICK ARE NOT TO BE FILLED WITH MORTAR. BROKEN, DETERIORATED BRICKS MUST BE REPLACED WITH BRICKS MATCHING THE PREVIOUS.

All mortar to be mixed using the VCC recipe (attached) with a maximum of 1 part Portland Cement, to 3 parts lime, to 9 parts sand, and enough water to form a workable mix. Prepackaged mixes are not permitted. The resulting mix should range in color from off-white to beige but should not be grey or white in color.
