VCC General Work Permit

Exploratory demolition of the front porch load bearing brick wall and foundation below grade plus analysis of any additional structural concerns.

.After pursuing a permit through the VCC to re-point and shore up our front porch load-bearing brick wall (reference code C31KHZ), the Architecture Committee ruled that we should get a general permit to dig in just enough to get some engineering drawings. The contractor's engineer will submit these drawings to move the permit to the next stage of work. We will then take those drawings to the VCC and get approval for that permit. Per Bryan Block from VCC: "The engineer should then investigate causes of the apparent failure. This would likely include exploratory demolition of the foundation below grade and analysis of any additional structural concerns. Permits should be obtained from the Dept of Safety and Permits (DSP) for this and all work prior to commencing." We have b
