VCC General Work Permit

Permit to perform below-grade exploratory demolition at interior side of masonry piers beneath Gov. Nicholls-side porch to determine the scope of future structural work. See attached materials stamped VCC approved 12/11/2025.

NOTE: A professional engineer should be engaged to shore and secure the porch structure to stabilize it and prevent additional masonry failure or further structural issues temporarily. Once the extant conditions are fully understood, the conditions should be thoroughly documented in photographs and engineering drawings of the remediation work should be drafted and presented to DSP and VCC for review and approval so that repair permits can be issued.

No work shall take place that involves or damages the rusticated finish blocks on the Gov. Nicholls-side face of the load-bearing wall, as this material is no longer readily available and would be very difficult to source and replace.
