Renovation (Structural) Permit

EMERGENCY PERMIT APPLICATION TO SHORE, REMOVE AND REPLACE WALL THAT IS IN IMMINENT DANGER OF COLLAPSING. According to the attached Engineer’s report dated July 14, 2025, the wall on the Toulouse Street side of the building bearing municipal address 601 Bourbon Street “is well outside of sound engineering and construction tolerances and should be replaced immediately” to prevent a collapse of the wall. This permit request includes the shoring of the Toulouse Street and Bourbon Street (partial) sides of the building; erection of a construction wall around the shoring area; removal of approximately 35 feet of the Toulouse Street wall to the parapet; recapping foundation rebar and concrete; rebuilding the wall three wythe thick; and related cosmetic restoration all in accordance with the attached stamped Engineer’s Masonry Wall Shoring and Repair Plans.
