VCC General Work Permit

To remove and replace existing asbestos shingles with new North Country Natural Black Slate roof.
to replace underlayment
To fabricate and install all new copper flashings, box valley and counter flashings.
Install/reinstall ceramic or concrete V-style or terra cotta ridge tiles. Replace broken tiles as needed, to match existing.
Metal cap-flashing on the parapets or chimneys is not allowed
To repair shutters and paint, all work to match existing
To perform masonry repairs to the front corner and have masons do stucco work and repaint stucco, all using VCC approved stucco and mortar mix
Mortar: No more than:
• 1 part Portland Cement, to
• 3 parts lime,
• 9 parts sand, and
• enough water to form a workable mix.
Stucco: Base coat consists of 2 coats, doubled up work of 5/8" total thickness. Proportioned as follows:
• no greater than 1:12 part Portland Cement, to
• 3 parts lime, and
• 9 parts sand,
• 6 lbs./cubic yard hair or fiber, and
• enough water to form a workable mix.
Finish coat is 1/4" in total thickness proportioned as follows:
• No more than 1 Part Portland cement,
• 3 Parts Lime,
• 9 Parts Sand,
• Enough water to form a workable mix.
