To repoint and repair masonry on the Burgundy, Conti, and Dauphine elevations of the building as per materials stamped VCC approved 12/12/2024.Ref code F8SYVT
NOTE: Work to the rear (St. Louis) elevation to be reviewed and permitted separately with the applicant to submit a new application for this work within 60 days or providing a survey showing this wall is the property of 414 Burgundy.
All masonry repairs to be made as per VCC standard details (attached). Any deteriorated, cracked, or broken bricks shall be replaced to match existing in color, size, material, porosity, detail, profile and exposure.
All reinstalled masonry must be properly "toothed in" to existing masonry wall, using VCC mortar formula (attached).
All mortar to be mixed using the VCC recipe (attached) with a maximum of 1 part Portland Cement, to 3 parts lime, to 9 parts sand, and enough water to form a workable mix. Prepackaged mixes are not permitted. The resulting mix should range in color from off-white to beige but should not be grey or white in color.
Voids in the brick are not to be filled with mortar. Broken, deteriorated bricks must be replaced with bricks matching the previous. MORTAR IS NOT TO BE APPLIED OVER THE FACE OF THE BRICKS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Doing so will result in a STOP WORK ORDER being placed on the property and violation case will be opened on the property.
