Renovation (Structural) Permit

FORTIFIED ROOF REPLACEMENTMain Roof & Laundry Room
1. Removal and Disposal: Remove, haul, tear off, and dispose of one layer of the existing roof.
2. Reframe: Remove and Replace 6 pieces of rotten framing with laminated wood. (Extra charges may apply if additional
pieces need to be replaced.)
3. Redeck: Remove the existing decking and install 1/2" plywood sheets. 6 Sq, Additional Cost may be incurred if additional
redeck is needed.
4. Roof Deck Nailing: Nail the roof deck with 8d ring-shank nails spaced at 4 inches in center.
5. Deck Sealing: Install Ice&Water Shield across the entire roof to enhance sealing.
6. Drip Edge: Replace the existing drip edge with a new 24ga. Galvalume drip edge that extends 1/2 inch below the sheathing
and a minimum of 2 inches back onto the roof. Secure the drip edge to the roof deck with mechanical fasteners at a
maximum of 4 inches apart.
7. Flashings: Install 24 ga. Galvalume wall flashing, step flashing, and apron flashing. Apply caulk to all flashings to ensure
proper sealing and prevent corrosion.
8. Shingles: Install Certainteed Belmont Shingles.
9. Hip & Ridge: Install Shangle Ridge shingles at hip and ridge.
10. Bullet Boots: Use Bullet Boots11. Chimney Crickets: Install 24ga. galvalume crickets on chimneys
