Local indie-rock band Kay Weathers follows a collaborative model when writing songs: each of the four bandmates contributes something unique. “We each write our own parts,” says Gerard. He outlines the process of how their songs come together: O'Brien begins with the lyrics and main progression, after which everyone comes together and helps flesh out the piece until they have their finished product.
